About
My name is Derrick Ramos and I love to create, I have for as long as I can remember. When I was a carpenter I loved creating and I continued it when I got into Multimedia. I graduated from Platt Collage with an A.A.S. in Multimedia. I am a father of three and engaged to a beautiful woman, to whom I love dearly. I love new challenges, I see them as an opportunity to grow. I take pride in what I do and I try to go 120% in all aspects of my life.
Work
Stop Motion Animation
I love stop-motion animation, and I love Monte Python. When I had the opportunity to do this, I jumped on it. This was done with cutout puppets, my iPhone, Final Cut Pro, and my lame British impression.
Tribal Gear
This is a magazine ad campaign for Tribal Street wear. The challenge was to sell the life style not just the clothing.
Sandcastle Competition
This poster was for the 30th U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition. I used: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark Express to create this.
Sicilian Swing
This was a web promo for Daniele Spadavecchia and the Sicilian Swing. The footage was shot by Mission Media, I edited.
Vical
This was a logo revision for Vical and a up-sale pitch for: shirts, vehicle wrap and signage, done in Illustrator.
Chase
This was a die-strike mail-to project for Chase. The concept was to get the consumer to get an auto loan through Chase. The incentive was that you would get a months worth of free gas.
Target

Rough House Media
This was a logo animation for Rough House Media to use for videos. It was made with Maya and Final Cut Studio. Rough House Media supplied the vector logo.
3D Animation
This project was done in Autodesk Maya. It was the first model I did with texture, bump map and lighting. (click image to see detail.)
Nicorae
This project was a Logo Creation for a creature shop, complete with envelope letterhead and business cards. This was done strictly in InDesign per request.
The Cure
The Cure is an old favorite that still play to this day. They have never truly landed on a logo, each album has had a different one. This was a concept for a solid logo that they could used for years to come.
Illustration
This project was to bring me back design roots, just a pen, ink and some paper. Based of a photo but edited in the mind… not photoshop.
Imperial Beach Website
The Imperial Beach website was the first full website I ever made, it is built in purely HTML & CSS.

- Have worked with a wide range of design materials and equipment, familiarity with design possesses,from project concept through completion.
- Knowledge in general XHTML/CSS,Web site preparation, design foundation, able to complete multiple projects skillfully within stringent completion.
- Proficient with hand design tools and comps. Such as but not limited too; paint brushes, color pencils, exacto knifes, putting together a trifold brochure, book and CD covers, posters,ads and coupons.
- Solid communication skills and possess trade-related terminology, essential to a efficient project.
